In general, cupping therapy uses glass cups placed on the skin by warming the air within the cup to create a vacuum. The tissues are then drawn into the cup. Sliding the cups along the muscles or leaving the cups on the body for a few minutes increases the blood flow and helps to break up scar tissue and tension in the muscles. This helps to reduce pain and expel heat, cold and wind from the body.
Circular marks that look like bruises may appear after a treatment, which is normal. The discolouration is a sign of detoxification.  They don’t hurt like bruises and will clear in a few days.
